Press Release
Ryoji Ikeda's, the world leading visual artist and music composer, minted his digital artwork on Startrail Registry Record (SRR), the next generation NFT provided by Startbahn. This artwork will be showcased on Sotheby's sale “Natively Digital: A Curated NFT Sale” from June 3 to June 10 online.
Startbahn, the leading art tech company in Asia, has developed Startrail, a sustainable and scalable blockchain infrastructure that assures the reliability, authenticity, and traceability of artworks, including NFTs. Startrail has a strong focus on the art ecosystem that even leads to adding value to art in the long term. Startrail maintains and assures the value of artworks by permanently recording provenance and other types of histories for the artwork such as auction or exhibition. Also, artists can set terms of each artwork which applies even after the primary sale, including royalty rights.
Ryoji Ikeda Studio commented: "This work uses their NFT called Startrail Registry Record (SRR) which adopts a new Layer 2 solution called Polygon and its transaction costs have been reduced to 0.0001% than the ones at Ethereum. Accordingly, power consumption is now significantly lower, it is more sustainable."
Sotheby's curates Natively Digital, a collection of remarkable and unique artworks with Robert Alice. They showcase some of the earliest, raw NFTs built on pre-Ethereum chains alongside newer, complex NFTs that showcase the cutting edge technical innovation. The Natively Digital auction will occur between June 3 and June 10 online at sothebys.com.
Startbahn provides technology needed by artists and art world stakeholders to provide and assure value in art, including Startrail, a blockchain infrastructure, and Startbahn Cert., a service that issues blockchain certificates for artworks.
