(Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President: Kazuo Takahashi, hereinafter Tokyu), to enter effect in 2023. Startrail PORT services will be used on all artworks exhibited in Tokyu’s “Art Valley”, with physical art installations launched on Friday, January 6th 2023.

On January 6, 2023, Tokyu introduced a new art platform called "Art Valley." It provides opportunities for showcasing and celebrating the artist's work in physical and digital spaces, as well as curating artworks. Art Valley uses SRRs (NFTs issued by Startrail PORT) to secure the authenticity, NFT management, and provenance of both physical and digital artworks through blockchain technology. Besides a public installation, Tokyu is developing a significant artistic urban project that will display art and artists along the Tokyu train line via social media and e-commerce channels.

On January 6, 2023, Tokyu launched "Art Valley," the 7th project in its "in-house entrepreneur training system." The new art platform business is designed for the creative industries and provides opportunities for both curating and showcasing artworks, as well as profiling the artist's work in both physical and digital spaces..

From January 23 to April 22, 2023, exclusive artworks and QR codes will be displayed in the atrium glass surrounding the Hikarie ticket gate at Shibuya Station on the Tokyu Line. This project allows Tokyu to bridge the physical and digital art world by offering the chance to purchase digital artworks via the Art Valley e-commerce website, an experience that cannot be obtained through other platforms or websites.

With "Art Valley," users can easily view and buy art, while artists have the opportunity to interact directly with users and build a creative community. The use of SRRs (NFTs issued by Startrail PORT) ensures that the provenance, NFT management, and authenticity of artworks are secured through blockchain technology. Tokyu is also planning a large-scale artistic urban project, showcasing artists and artworks along the Tokyu train line via social media and e-commerce access points.

Startrail PORT to power NFTs at Tokyu Corporation’s “Art Valley” in Shibuya, Tokyo

Startbahn, Inc. (Head office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Taihei Shii; hereinafter "Startbahn") is pleased to announce that FUN FAN NFT, Startbahn’s QR to NFT web app, will be used at Toyota Automobile Museum, a museum owned by Toyota Motor Corporation (Head office: Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, Representative Director: Akio Toyoda; hereinafter "Toyota"). FUN FAN NFT is a mobile friendly web app that allows visitors to collect NFTs simply by scanning QR codes. 8 classic cars in masterpiece movies will be featured as digital collectibles available to collect via an NFT treasure hunt, held from January 24th to February 28th, 2023.

Toyota Automobile Museum, owned and operated by Toyota, will use Startbahn’s FUN FAN NFT to launch an NFT treasure hunt, a new and innovative way for visitors to engage with the museum’s exhibits. The treasure hunt, which utilizes SRRs (non-fungible tokens issued on FUN FAN NFT), will allow visitors to interact with the museum’s classic automobile collection in a fun and interactive way.

From January 24th to February 28th, 2023, visitors to the museum will be able to use their mobile devices to scan QR codes located throughout the museum near the physical classic automobile, which will lead them to digital twin collectibles of cars featured in masterwork films . These NFTs will feature unique artwork and information about the exhibits, and can be collected and stored in a digital wallet on FUN FAN NFT. Please note that the grade, year, and color of the cars on display and the cars that have appeared in movies may not necessarily be the same.

Toyota Motor Corporation’s Toyota Automobile Museum to launch an NFT Stamp Rally using Startbahn’s FUN FAN NFT

The Aomori Nebuta Festival is a traditional large festival held every summer in Aomori Prefecture. It originated in the ancient ritual of "Nemuri Nagashi," a ceremony to ward off the fatigue of farm work. The "Nebuta" is a traditional and nationally important folk heritage that takes a full year from conception to completion by master craftspeople. This year at Matsuya Ginza will feature the “Nebuta” art work by Asako Kitamura, the first female Nebuta master.

テクノロジーと日本文化をテーマにしたトークイベントも開催予定。テーマは「工芸3.0　-アート×テクノロジー×日本文化-「新しい日本文化はどのようにして生まれるのか？」です。Web3.0が話題となる現在、工芸も、より現代にあった形にアップデートしようとする動きがあります。そこで、こちらのトークイベントでは、各分野の専門家たちが、「新しい日本文化」のあり方について語り合います。登壇者は、B-OWND プロデューサーの石上賢氏とTeaRoom CEOであり茶人の岩本涼氏、住吉酒販 代表の庄島健泰氏、スタートバーン最高戦略責任者の太田圭亮の４名です。

Taihei Shii, Founder and CEO of Startbahn, the company building Startrail, a blockchain infrastructure for creative industries, will publish a new book entitled "A New Form of Art: What Does NFT Art Change?" on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 with Heibonsha. Using the affinity between NFTs and art as a springboard, the book takes a deep look at the intrinsic value of art and its relationship to provenance and catalogue information. It also includes a discussion with Toyotaka Sakai, professor at Keio University, Junya Yamamine, curator and co-representative at Tokyo Art Acceleration, and Toru Takeda, professor at Senshu University, on the themes of contemporary art, society, economics, and media.

Startrail is an infrastructure supporting the development of the fine arts ecosystem by furthering its trust and credibility with blockchain technology. By issuing Startrail Blockchain Certificate that records artwork information, an issuer can manage the distribution of the artwork such as recording its provenance across all stakeholders involved in the distribution. Startrail also enables artists to automatically execute their own rulesets regarding the distribution and usage of their work as well as the royalty-type revenue on the secondary distribution by every transaction.

The blockchain project was first announced in July 2018 and has improved significantly in a year of the demonstration period. After taking constructive and valuable feedbacks from partner businesses in the art industry, we proudly released its white paper in October 2019. Then, we renamed this infrastructure from “Art Blockchain Network” to “Startrail” in March 2020 and plan to further expand our business.
